Christmas in the Village

December 5 @ 5:30 pm 8:00 pm

As a part of our 52 nights of “A Heritage Center Christmas”, enjoy Christmas in the Village as you stroll the illuminated historic village adorned with glittering lights and traditional seasonal décor, including living greens, oil lamps, cozy fires, wreaths, garlands and more.

Transport your family back in time with traditional demonstrations and conversations with living historians and artisans as they serve up a mix of warm, Appalachian holiday cheer: From open-hearth cooking and wool spinning, to weaving on historic looms and blacksmithing, to ragdoll making and hand sewing, to horn carving and live, seasonal music of all kinds, you never know what wonders you might encounter!

Living historians and period-dressed demonstrators will be in the village each night.

Children can help decorate our Christmas tree by adding their name to our chain link garland. They can also visit our kids’ area including traditional, take-home crafts and activities for all ages.

Make it a family experience and stroll through authentic Smoky Mountain history in the warm glow of the historic Appalachian village.
