Our next featured Fiber Fair Class is Fiber Prep for Spinning with Instructor Jennifer Bennett!
Make the most of your prep time AND your spinning time! Bring your hand cards and combs and we will look at efficiently getting the tangles out, blending, and preparing for spinning on wheels or spindles.
There will be an assortment of fibers to work with included in the class fee.
Bring any fiber you would especially like help with.
Instructor Bio:
I love to spin, weave, and knit and I love the connection with people throughout the ages, throughout the world that comes from spinning, weaving, and knitting. I have been spinning and weaving for 40 years and knitting far longer. I have raised National Grand Champion Angora rabbits and alpacas for their marvelous wools to feed my spinning wheels for decades! I love to share the ins and outs of these things at guilds, workshops, festivals, and conventions all over the country, striving for the lightbulbs that flash when someone 'gets it'! I have benefitted from world-class mentors and do
my best to emulate them.

Our next Fiber Fair vendor spotlight is Appalachian Yarn Company
Appalachian Yarn Company specializes in natural fiber yarns sourced from local farms, U.S. mills, and fair trade companies. Many of the products come from their very own alpaca fiber produced at Stewart Heritage Farm located in New Market, Tennessee.
In addition to yarn, their shop carries roving for hand-spinners, a wide variety of notions, hand-crafted clothing and home accessories, alpaca socks, locally produced gifts, and many other unique items!

Our next featured Fiber Fair Class is Needle Felted Fruit with Instructor Sarazen AnYin!
Discover the art of needle felting and craft your own realistic, handmade fruit from soft, colorful wool! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the basics of shaping, layering, and detailing wool fibers using special felting needles. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced crafter, you'll gain step-by-step guidance to create adorable cut kiwi, juicy strawberries, or even a sliced lemon.
Perfect for DIY lovers, home decorators, and unique gift makers—by the end of this class, you’ll finish at least one felted fruit, and you'll be on your way to having a charming set of felted fruit to display or gift!
Instructor Bio:
Currently based in Eastern TN, Sarazen is a fiber artist specializing in dimensional wool paintings using a variety of materials, including wool, silk, paper, feathers and fiction. She began her fiber arts journey in the early 1970’s learning embroidery. Her skills also include sewing, knitting, designing, crochet, spinning, wet felting, dry felting and writing. She began wool painting in 2014 and in 2018 began developing the world of Broken Elms. Her work is inspired by themes of identity, authenticity, vulnerability, psychology, the complexity of reality and the terrible beauty of nature itself.

Holly Dyeworks is a yarn and design company based in North Alabama that specializes in creating hand dyed colorways, patterns and kits. The 30+ colorways are inspired by places and experiences from “Holly’s” own life.
Holly Dyeworks is owned and operated by Eve Noelle Hildebrandt “Holly”. She was taught her love of hand crafts by her mother and grandmother from a young age. She received her initial training in dyeing, weaving, and various other fiber arts at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina. She is passionate about all things fiber and color!
