Winter Heritage Festival

Step back in time for the annual Winter Heritage Festival at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center. 

Experience hands on demonstrations. Practice pioneer survival skills, and get a sense of how hard life was during pioneer times.

Learn a traditional craft from a living historian. See historic artifacts, and learn about the weapons the pioneers used to survive in the Southern Appalachian region.  

Experience the history of East Tennessee Mountain culture by participating in some of the daily tasks of European settlers in Southern Appalachia.
