
Terence Norman Jr is a lifelong Appalachian with a deep-rooted passion for public service, community engagement, and civic leadership. He blends his background in event planning, outreach, and education to create inclusive, engaging programs that honor the diverse heritage of the Southern Appalachian region and showcase the power of public programming to inspire dialogue and reflection.
From grassroots political organizing to legal advocacy, Terence has developed a robust skillset in public speaking, servant leadership, and program management. His work has consistently focused on bringing people together, uplifting underserved voices, and making institutions more accessible and community-focused. Above all, Terence believes that thoughtful planning and collaboration are the cornerstones of impactful storytelling. Whether he’s organizing festivals, leading research, or building partnerships, he remains committed to celebrating Appalachian identity in all its richness and complexity.
Education
Terence holds a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a B.S. in Political Science and Public Service from UT Chattanooga.
Personal
Terence was born and raised just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Outside of work, Terence actively pursues a variety of hobbies, including kayaking, fishing, swimming, and learning the banjo –all with his dog, Nellie, by his side.
